What if I have an emergency?

What are the qualifications of 24hr Virtual Clinic™ doctors and where are they based?

Our doctors are board certified, licensed physicians.  We conduct a thorough background check on each medical doctor and monitor state medical boards to determine our doctors remain in good standing.  Coverage is provided in all 50 states and Washington D.C. We have doctors fluent in both English and Spanish.

What are the typical conditions treated by 24hr Virtual Clinic™?

Typical conditions include allergies, urinary tract infections, cold, flu, sinus and respiratory infections as well as providing second opinions or answering medical questions.

May I obtain a prescription medication?

When appropriate and within regulations set by the state, physicians may prescribe a non-narcotic/non-DEA controlled or lifestyle modification drugs. What are the most frequently prescribed medications?

Top medications prescribed: antibiotics – amoxicillin, Augmentin, azithromycin, and Suprax; antibacterial-Bactrim and Zithromax; ACE inhibitor lisinopril; corticosteroid prednisone. 

Do all states allow 24hr Virtual Clinic™ doctors to prescription medication?

Most all states do allow prescribing non-narcotic, non-DEA controlled medications from a telemedicine doctor consultation.

Can I get a prescription refill?

Doctor’s may write a non-narcotic prescription (where allowed by law and when sufficient medical history is available) with a thirty day (30) limit on first prescription or refills and a fifteen day (15) limit on second prescription or refill.  Patients must see their primary doctor after second refill. Our doctors will not refill pre-prescribed prescriptions for narcotics or DEA controlled substances.

How do I get a medical doctor consultation?

For phone consultations, simply dial the toll-free Doctor Hotline number included in your membership material.  A medical agent answers your call, asks about your current symptoms, takes your medical history if not on file, and arranges to get a doctor on the phone.  You receive a call back as soon as a doctor is available in your state, generally in less than an hour. Access for secured video consultations is via a secure HIPAA compliant internet member portal.

Will 24hr Virtual Clinic™ send results of my consultation to my doctor or specialist?

You may request to have a record of your consultation sent to your doctor which will be sent by secure email or fax to your doctor.

Is my medical information kept confidential?

In addition to your well being, the confidentiality of your medical information is a top priority at 24hr Virtual Clinic™.  Your information is maintained in a HIPAA-compliant secure electronic personal medical record system and encrypted on our secure servers.  Our procedures comply with HIPAA, the Federal Law that protects your personal health information.

What if I have a pre-existing condition, am I still able to use 24hr Virtual Clinic™?

Yes, 24hr Virtual Clinic™ service is not insurance and therefore there are no restrictions.  Any member is eligible to use the service.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

No, however, an adult/guardian must be present in order for our doctors to treat an underage dependent.

May I use this plan as part of my Health Savings Account?

It should, but coverage depends on your specific HSA.  Please contact your provider for information.

How does this affect my health insurance?

The goal of 24hr Virtual Clinic™ is not to replace traditional healthcare, health insurance, or your primary care doctor, but rather to complement and make it less expensive, by providing a network of doctors which are accessible to everyone 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
