How It Works
Let’s face it; injuries at a manufacturing or recycling facility are going to happen. For the ones that may not be as serious as others, guiding employees to the appropriate level of care is the key. Nurse triage includes registered nurses (RNs) waiting to speak to your injured employees 24/7. They’ll be the ones to determine who can be treated with first aid or homecare and who needs a clinic referral.
The call begins with the RN asking for the employee’s first and last name and the last four digits of their SSN. The system will then request the employee’s information from your company’s HR software, which is downloaded into the injured employee’s call file. In addition, the call is recorded for future reference. This information is then used to populate all of the forms and documentation needed. At Assurance, we, our clients and the insurance carrier will receive a copy of the following:
- Verification of Employment
- First Report of Injury
- Incident Report
- Carrier Notice
- OSHA
At that time, the RN will advise the best way to move forward based on the type of injury the employee is facing. This will help prevent a larger claim, if a hospital visit isn’t necessary. The goal of the system is to get your employee the appropriate level of care as soon as possible and to get them back to work quickly as well.
